Online bookseller Empty Mirror Books (EMB) has just celebrated its third anniversary. When EMB opened its virtual doors in summer 2000, its inventory consisted used & rare Beat Generation & small-press poetry books. Since then, Empty Mirror has expanded its scope, now carrying new, used, & collectible books & recordings. Specialties are modern non-academic poetry, the Beat Generation, the work of Michael McClure, literary ephemera, & spoken word recordings.

Last fall, Empty Mirror Books Distribution (EMBD) was launched in an effort to assist poets & small-press publishers in making their books & spoken word recordings available to a larger audience. EMBD advertises distributed books on the Empty Mirror Books website, as well as on over a dozen major bookselling sites worldwide. Additionally, each poet or press is given a free webpage that presents detailed information about each specific title, offering readers the opportunity to purchase books directly.
